Ladies and Gentlemen I have approved the inauguration of the annual “Street Soccer Championship” as a means of further engaging our teeming youths.

Street Soccer is not new as all young people at one time or the other has passionately engaged in the games. The formalization is designed amongst others to:

• Provide a platform for social engagement amongst our young people
• Provide employment opportunities for thousands of our young men
• Place value on the talents and skills of millions of our players
• Stimulate and transfer the passion for football from the foreign leagues to our local teams
• Form the foundation of City Teams that will give birth to our own Manchester United’s, Arsenals, Chelsea’s and others. Continued here..
